Come to the meeting tonight!

Help save Rock Creek Hills Park, tonight, by attending the 7:30 PM meeting of the Rock Creek Hills Citizens' Association, at the North Chevy Chase Elementary School, 3700 Jones Bridge Road, Chevy Chase. If you live in Rock Creek Hills you can pay your $35 dues (by check only!) tonight at the meeting. Dues are per household but votes are per person, so make it a date. And don't be late; plan to arrive early.

A deeply flawed and secretive process led to the County Board of Education's hurried April 28th proclamation that it would seize our small park as a site for a new middle school, even though our park fails all of the Board's specified site evaluation criteria! Citizens have until May 27th to appeal this arbitrary and unreasonable decision to the State Board of Education. Tonight you can attend the RCHCA meeting, learn more about this issue, and (if you're a Rock Creek Hills resident and have paid your RCHCA dues) vote, we hope, to appeal to the State.
(And, there is something else everyone can do today, even before the meeting: You can write to Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett, whose concurrence is required for the Board to have their way. So, ask him to spare Rock Creek Hills Park, by instructing the Board of Education to re-open the B-CC middle-school site selection process as soon as possible, before our May 27th deadline to appeal to the State.)
Join friends of Rock Creek Hills Park tonight!
RCHCA meeting at 7:30 PM:
North Chevy Chase Elementary School, 3700 Jones Bridge Road, Chevy Chase.

[If you're not a Rock Creek Hills resident, you can still appeal to the State. Our understanding is that all citizens have standing to appeal, and that several appeals are planned. Perhaps the real question is, how many appeals to the State will be filed, of the County Board's arbitrary and unreasonable decision?]
